Letterpress Communications Named 2026 Innovative Employer by Internships Virginia

Virginia Economic Development Partnership honors Farmville marketing firm for high-quality, hands-on internship program

FARMVILLE, Va. (Oct. 5, 2026) – Letterpress Communications, a woman-owned marketing firm headquartered in Farmville, Va., has been honored with the 2026 Innovative Employer Award for extraordinary internship programs by Internships Virginia, a program administered by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP). The agency was celebrated Oct. 1 at the Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s Virginia Education and Workforce Conference in Richmond, Va.

VEDP selected Letterpress from a competitive pool of nominations representing employers across Virginia. The designation recognizes organizations that provide high-quality internship experiences, offering meaningful learning opportunities for students while creating value for employers.

“Our interns come to Letterpress to learn, but we learn from them, too,” said Letterpress Director of Community Success Jennifer Kinne, who supervises the agency’s interns. “They ask thoughtful questions, bring fresh perspectives to our work and become a valuable part of our team. We want them to leave with skills and experiences they can build on, but a successful internship also means they’ve contributed something meaningful while they’re here.”

Letterpress offers hands-on internships that allow students to contribute to active client work while learning alongside the full Letterpress team. Interns gain experience across marketing disciplines, including social media, storytelling, research, advertising and multimedia content production. Rather than simply observing agency work, interns are invited to contribute their ideas, develop new skills and see their work make an impact.

Real-World Marketing Experience

That collaborative approach reflects Letterpress’ broader belief in community-powered growth. Since its founding in 2015, the agency has created internship opportunities that give students real-world marketing experience while supporting businesses and organizations in rural communities.

“I have truly had an amazing and productive time interning with Letterpress,” said Aviva Bloom, Letterpress’ current intern and a senior at Fuqua School. “I have been able to work one-on-one with experts in a variety of fields, and I have gained valuable knowledge from all of them. I believe that Letterpress is teaching me both career and life skills that I can take with me through my future careers.”

The Innovative Employers for Interns designation is part of VEDP’s efforts to strengthen Virginia’s talent pipeline by connecting students with meaningful work-based learning opportunities and helping employers build their future workforce. VEDP will also recognize the 2026 honorees in a statewide announcement.
