At Letterpress, we know there’s something magical about rural communities. Neighbors come together, challenges are met with creativity and stories have a way of bringing people closer. From a nonprofit fighting poverty to a small business creating local jobs or a tourism agency revitalizing a small town, we love partnering with rural clients in storytelling marketing that amplifies their impact. 

One of our favorite collaborations has been with Tri-County Community Action Agency (TCCAA), a Southside Virginia nonprofit working to empower individuals and families by fighting poverty. From showcasing their successes to helping them build community buy-in, we’ve seen firsthand how authentic storytelling can inspire growth and good in rural communities. Curious to know more? Collaborating with TCCAA on the 2024 Annual Report

TCCAA serves its community through an impressive range of programs, including Head Start, Infant & Maternal Health, Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services, Weatherization Assistance, and even a community cannery, ensuring no need goes unmet.

In 2024 we collaborated with this nonprofit to produce its first-ever annual report, a project that captured incredible impact. From compiling program data to crafting four participant success stories, we worked closely with the TCCAA team to highlight the lives transformed by the organization’s support services. We also designed a polished one-sheet to complement the report. This ensures TCCAA has a versatile piece to share with partners and stakeholders going forward.

By telling the stories behind TCCAA’s numbers, we helped show how its programs truly make a difference. They empower families to overcome barriers and help individuals build brighter futures.

This holistic storytelling approach doesn’t just report on outcomes. It builds connections and invites others to join TCCAA’s mission to fight poverty and create opportunity. As we prepare to work with TCCAA again in 2025, we are thrilled to continue supporting its life-changing efforts in Halifax, Mecklenburg and Charlotte counties. Together, we’re proving that collaboration and authentic storytelling have the power to inspire action and create lasting good.

Partnering for Rural Prosperity

Our work with TCCAA is just one of the many ways we help rural communities thrive. Last year we partnered with Highland County, Virginia, to encourage tourism through a “Make Your Move” campaign. Recently, we created a series of videos for Visit Smyth County to celebrate the unique charm of small-town travel. We supported the Town of St. Paul, Virginia, in designing a new tear-off map to help visitors discover local restaurants, shops and attractions. We also helped the Bank of Charlotte County deepen connections with their community.
